Multi Language - International Users

Hi,

Tokbox is awsome! It's eally simple and powerful.

I'm from Brazil and will be creating an app with it. I've noticed however that there are a few words/phrases in english, which let users select audio/camera options. They are:

- mute
- settings
- camera
- microphone
- change
- back
- select a camera
- select a microphone

Is there a way that I can override these default words and translate them myself to portuguese? Is there any other way around this?

Even thou it's not a big deal, since there are only a few words and the images are self explanatory, it would be very nice to have them in my language, making it easier for users who don't speak english.

Thanks a lot

Rafael

Rafael  -
Thanks for the nice words.  We understand what you're asking for and it makes sense! we have a long list of things of new things we want to do and existing things we want to make better.  Localization isn't the highest thing on our list - especially since we've deliberately made the widget as stripped down as possible (thanks for noticing!) - but your feedback about being able to simply override words is well taken  and I will pass on to our product team.
Thanks for the input and please let us know if you have more!

Hi All,

I agree with Rafael, OpenTok is awsome :)

I would like to ask if there is any update on Localization feature?

Thank you,
-Armen

Unfortunately, no. We've been busy working on new technology like WebRTC, iOS SDK, and Android SDK. For the time being, maybe you can add instructions on your site to educate your users about what the words mean?
