P2P for more than 2 people

Postby dfridzon@alodok.com » Thu Nov 29, 2012 12:38 pm

Hello,

is there any plan to allow P2P sessions for more than 2 users?

What if the 3rd user is a subscriber?

Is this for our Flash stack? P2P is only possible between 2 parties.

The reason p2p only works for two people is that each user is required full upload bandwidth to stream to each other user. Meaning if User A has 300(up)/300(down) kbps of bandwidth, and User B also has 300/300, then adding User C would require each of them to upload twice as much media and that would likely degrade the quality below where it is acceptable. In the case of the Flash stack, its not even our choice because RTMFP (used by Flash) doesn't have a way for us to do this.
