Some questions i have

Postby aizen » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:20 pm

Hello guys!
I'm making a website with some friends and we need to build a private video chat (1 to 1) in order to attend our objectives.
A resume of what we need exactly:
the 'guest 1' will make an appointment with the 'host 1'. When the time comes, both will enter the video chat. However, the website will get many hits over time, and anyone that have make an appointment could get access to the same private video chat that 'guest 1' and 'host 1' own.
I thought about making passwords so 'guest 1' and 'host 1' will be the only ones to enter the video chat that they scheduled. Is this possible in this situation, and if it is, how can i make it?
If you guys have any other tips i could use or do here. please tell me.
This question is driving me crazy.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there

Your solution is possible. What you can do is everytime you set up an appointment, you generate a new session for that appointment.

Now whenever the host goes to the page, he will automatically join the current session that is supposed to be happening. And for the guest, check the password he puts in. If it correct, you have the guest join the session the host is in. Now they are both in the same session. When the appointment is over, the host can just refresh the page, and if your code works, it will make the host automatically join the next session.
