Tokbox webRTC not working on Google Chrome/Ubuntu

Postby hung06n » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:38 am

Hello!

I'm trying Tokbox webRTC on the latest Google Chrome (Version 23.0.1271.64) on kubuntu-12.10 and get this error:

"Subscriber PeerConnection Error: Timed out while waiting for the Video to load the stream. This could be because someone is behine a Firewall or Symmetric NAT"

On the same network, it works fine if I try it from a Windows 7.

Is there something I should do to make it work on Chome/Kubuntu too?

* I got the same error when trying the hello world sample at http://www.tokbox.com/opentok/api/tools ... world.html

Thanks,

-Hung

Hey Hung -

Can you check if this works for you on Chrome / Ubuntu: https://apprtc.appspot.com/?r=98119261 ? I'm not sure if WebRTC supports that config.

Here's the sumary:

With that Google sample's link:
If I try it from my office, it does not work on Chrome/Ubuntu, neither on Chrome/Windows.
If I try it from my home, it works on both Chrome/Ubuntu and Chrome/Windows.

With Tokbox's helloworld sample:
If I try it from my office, it does not work on Chrome/Ubuntu; but does work on Chrome/Windows.
If I try it from my home, it works on both Chrome/Ubuntu and Chrome/Windows.

Hung,

It sounds like your office network may have a NAT that we cannot establish a p2p connection through. We are working hard at putting together a solution that will involve TURN and/or a server-side relay so that the p2p connection is not necessary. Until then we are at the mercy of those network conditions :-/
