There are several reasons this might happen. Here are a couple common fixes:
Quit all other programs that might be using your camera. e.g iChat, other video IM software.
Restart the browser and/or the computer.
Check to ensure the camera drivers are correctly configured on your computer. In windows you can test this in your control panel. In OSX [Mac] you can test this with other camera software such as Photo Booth.
If none of these help, please click the Feedback button on the left side of the screen and send us the following info: Your webcam model, your operating system and your browser/version. We will get back to you and fix the issue shortly!
Make sure your microphone is on and recording. You can check this by right-clicking TokBox -> settings -> microphone settings and talking or clapping. If you see a green/red bar moving, your mic works and the problem is on the other person’s side – see next question! If not, you will need to contact your hardware manufacturer for a solution.
Check if the volume bar at the bottom of their screen is moving. If not, the person you are speaking with may need to connect their microphone (see question above). If it is moving and you cannot hear them, make sure your speakers/headphones are not muted and working correctly by playing music in any application (e.g. iTunes, WinAmp).
There is a really strong echo.
This is caused by the microphone picking up sound from your speakers. Put on some earphones and it will probably disappear. If you are using a headset, try turning the volume on your speakers down a little. We are working on making sure the echo goes away altogether.
The quality of sound/video is poor.
There are a number of things that can cause this. If you experience problems and you're sure your Internet connection is fast, please click the Feedback button on the left side of the screen and send us your browser version, operating system version, and the geographical locations of you and the person with which you talk. We're adding servers worldwide.
There is a feature I would like to see that is not on TokBox!

How do I embed my room in another site?
Click "Embed TokBox" and either select where you want to put it with our handy embedding tool, or copy and paste in the code. This is very similar to how you would embed a YouTube video.
Can anyone else see my conversations?
No, all of your conversations on TokBox are private. However, if you choose to share a conference call URL, anyone who is made aware of that URL can join the call.
Anyone who you give the link to your room or who is visiting a page you embedded your room on will be able to call you. Think of your TokBox link as your phone number or email address - once you give it out to someone, they can call or email you at any time.
Does TokBox have an API I could use to integrate it with my website?
